Lenovo and AMD have partnered to launch the CIO Technology Playbook 2023, a guide for IT investments in the Asia Pacific region. The playbook offers insights into the technology trends that are expected to shape the IT landscape in the coming years and provides guidance on how businesses can use these trends to their advantage.
Based on an IDC document commissioned by Lenovo and AMD, by 2027, organizations in Asia Pacific will generate up to 43% of their revenue from digitally connected products, services, and customer experiences. The CIO Technology Playbook is based on a poll of over 900 regional CIOs and IT decision-makers, and it highlights the challenges and considerations for CIOs in today’s digital era.
The playbook highlights the importance of technologies such as cloud computing, 5G, and artificial intelligence in driving digital transformation. It also emphasizes the need for businesses to prioritize cybersecurity and data privacy to mitigate the risks associated with digitalization.
According to the playbook, businesses in the Asia Pacific region should prioritize the following areas for IT investment:
- Hybrid cloud infrastructure: As businesses increasingly move their operations to the cloud, a hybrid cloud infrastructure that combines on-premises and cloud-based resources is becoming essential.
- AI and machine learning: These technologies can help businesses gain insights into their data and automate processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- 5G and edge computing: With the rollout of 5G networks, businesses can take advantage of faster and more reliable connectivity to enable new use cases such as autonomous vehicles and smart cities.
- Cybersecurity and data privacy: As digitalization increases the risk of cyberattacks and data breaches, businesses must prioritize cybersecurity and data privacy to protect their assets and maintain customer trust.
The playbook also includes case studies from businesses that have successfully implemented these technologies to drive innovation and growth.
In a statement, Ken Wong, President of Lenovo Asia Pacific, said, “The CIO Technology Playbook 2023 provides businesses with a roadmap for navigating the complex and rapidly evolving technology landscape. By prioritizing investments in the areas identified in the playbook, businesses can stay ahead of the curve and drive sustainable growth.”
