The tech business is having a hard time right now. Big tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Twitter, and many others recently fired thousands of people around the world. The bad news is that most of these companies are planning to lay off more than one group of people. One of these companies is Microsoft, which, according to news reports, is letting go of hundreds of workers in the U.S.

According to new reports, Microsoft has cut 559 more jobs in the security operations department in Bellevue and Redmond. The Seattle Times says that this brings the total number of job cuts in Seattle to 2,743. This comes after Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, said that the first round of layoffs would happen in January 2023. Back then, the company said it would cut 10,000 jobs and blamed the bad state of the economy as a whole. Meta and Amazon just cut thousands of jobs around the world in their second round of layoffs.

In an email to employees in January 2023, Nadella said that the company was letting go of thousands of workers because “macroeconomic conditions and changing customer priorities” were to blame. “We are cutting jobs in some areas, but we will keep hiring in key strategic areas,” Nadella told employees in the same email. The CEO of Microsoft also talked about how important it is to use advances in artificial intelligence to build a “new computer platform.” “Organizations in every industry and part of the world are also being careful because some parts of the world are in a recession and others are expecting one,” he wrote.

The tech company is working with Open AI, the company that made the popular ChatGPT, to improve its recently released Bing AI chatbot. All users are slowly getting access to the new Bing AI, but they will need to make sure they have a Microsoft ID. Users will also be able to sign in with their phone numbers.

To use Bing Chat, users just need to open Bing in their browser and click the Chat button in the upper left corner. Now, once a user has access to the new Bing, they can use the new Bing AI powered by ChatGPT for free. With the most recent update, the new Bing AI can also make AI photos. Users just need to follow the prompts, and the chatbot will make images that fit the needs.
